I have always wanted to join the french foreign legion and last night I dreamt of joining and made a friend there that I would hangout and make jocks and laugh with shortly after we were sent on a mission in Afghanistan and during the patrol mission of the two of us we reach a small settlement like village and right as we did several pickup trucks flying the Taliban flag come and started opening fire, I immediately go for cover and started firing back successfully dispatching some of the insurgents but there were too many so I threw a smoke grenade and started running away while my rifle was pointed towards the direction of the smoke as expected two insurgents start to emerge running out of the smoke I shot one of them dead and the other one started firing back so I kept on running and I hid in an alleyway behind the houses and a kid sees me and he tried to tell the insurgent that I was here I tried to shhh him to no success since the Taliban insurgent was close he heard this at which point I shot the Taliban fight dead and I started running towards a hill in the desert as I reached the top of the hill I laid prone and I started to radio to my friend checking if he is still alive, his radio doesn't answer so I say if you can't talk click the button so I know your alive still no answer (no static over the radio) I took my binoculars out and started looking around the village at which point I spot a broken and burnt up radio looking some more I spotted a warehouse structure that two if the insurgent trucks where parked outside and some men guarding it, so I snuck to the warehouse through a broken AC port accessing the catwalk and making my way to a secluded part of the warehouse, when I reached there my friend was covered in blood and is hurt not shot but definitely beaten up I free him and we sneak out a different exit leading towards the desert my friend being sarcastic grabs a bottle of wine saying I haven't touched this in a long while but to celebrate this I will we got out of the warehouse jogging away from the insurgents and before anything I woke up
Dreams often reflect our subconscious thoughts, desires, and fears. Your dream, with its vivid imagery and military themes, seems to encompass several layers of meaning:
Desire for Adventure and Belonging: Your lifelong interest in the French Foreign Legion suggests a yearning for adventure, challenge, and possibly a sense of belonging to a community that shares your values. Making a friend in your dream represents your desire for camaraderie and connection in that pursuit.
Conflict and Fear: The mission in Afghanistan and the ensuing firefight could symbolize internal or external conflicts you are currently facing in your waking life. The Taliban attacks might represent obstacles or threats that you perceive in pursuit of your goals. Your responses—going for cover, firing back—might suggest feelings of aggression or defensiveness in how you deal with challenges.
Decision-Making Under Pressure: Your instinct to throw a smoke grenade and find cover indicates a strategic approach to challenging situations. This might reflect your capacity to think on your feet and adapt to difficult circumstances in real life.
Concerns About Relationships: The radio silence from your friend could signify worries about relationships or support systems in your life. The lack of communication during a critical moment may reflect fears of isolation or losing touch with those you care about, especially when pursuing ambitious goals.
Rescue and Hope: Finding and rescuing your friend can symbolize hope and the strength of friendship in overcoming adversity. His humorous quip about the wine reveals a shared resilience and the ability to find joy even in dire situations, showcasing a need for levity amidst struggles.
Transformation and Growth: The journey from intense danger to eventual escape signifies personal evolution. The act of sneaking away from the insurgents could symbolize finding new paths in life or navigating through turmoil to achieve safety and growth.
